Clan Ceremonies[/b][/i]
Warrior Ceremony:
Leader: All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a Clan meeting!
-Clan gathers-
Leader: I, (Leader's Name), leader of (Clan), call upon my warrior anscestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/She) has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend (her/him) to you as a warrior in turn.
-Leader turns to face apprentice-
Leader: (Apprentice's Name), do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Leader: Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name; (Apprentice's name), from this moment you will be known as (Warrior's name). StarClan honors your loyalty and your determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of (Clan).
-Leader steps forward and rests muzzle on new warrior's head-
Apprentice Ceremony:
Leader:All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a Clan meeting!
-Clan gathers-
Leader: We are here today to give two Clan kits their apprentice names. Come forward.
-Kit(s) walk(s) forward-
Leader: (Warrior's name), you will be mentor to (new Apprentice's name).
-Warrior walks to stand beside his/her apprentice-
Leader: (Warrior's name), you are (compliment) and (compliment). Pass all you can onto this young apprentice.
-Warrior and apprentice touch noses, and then go to edge of circle. Ceremony repeats if there is another apprentice-
Medicine Cat Ceremony:
-Medicine cat looks up at Silverpelt-
Medicine cat: I, (name), medicine cat of (Clan), call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the way of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve her Clan for many moons. (Apprentice's name), do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Medicine cat: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. (Apprentice's name), from this moment you will be known as (Warrior's name). StarClan honors your courage and your faith.
Death Ceremony:
Medicine Cat: (Name) was a (compliment) (rank). Let us give thanks to StarClan for (his/her) life. (He/She) was (compliment) to her Clan, and (his/her) memory will never fade from the forest. Now we commend (his/her) spirit to StarClan; may (he/she) wacth over us in death as (he/she) did in life.
Deputy Ceremony:
Leader: Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting!
-Clan gathers-
Leader: The time has come to name the new deputy of (Clan). I say these words (above (Old deputy's name) body, so (he/she) may approve of may choice)/(below StarClan, so they may approve of my choice). (New deputy's name) will be the new deputy of (Clan.)
-Clan calls out new deputy's name-
Name Changing Ceremony:
Leader: I, (leader's name), leader of (Clan), call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this (warrior/apprentice/kit/elder). Their name no longer stands for who they are. From now on, this (warrior/apprentice/kit/elder) shall be known as (new name). -rests muzzle on head-Cat: Licks leader's shoulder
Elder Ceremony:
Leader: (Warriors name) are you sure it is your wish to give up the name of warrior and go join the elders?
Warrior:It is.
Leader: Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given us. I call upon StarClan to give you many seasons of rest.
